"The Armed Man, A Mass for Peace"

  • National Concert Hall Earlsfort Terrace Dublin, County Dublin Ireland (map)

Dun Laoghaire Choral Society is delighted to have been invited to perform Karl Jenkins' fantastic work "The Armed Man, A Mass for Peace", in a repeat performance of last year's sell-out "Concert for Peace" at Knock Basilica.

Composed to mark the millennium in 2000, Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace is a powerful and compelling phenomenon in contemporary music, bringing the audience on an inspirational journey from the cacophony of conflict to a final message of hope and peace. It is a dramatically engaging work, vividly setting to music extracts from the Christian Eucharist and using influences and inspirations from all over the world, including poems by Kipling and Tennyson.

DLCS will be joined again by the Ballina Chamber Choir, Cor Mhaigh Eo and soprano Anne Marie Gibbons as well as the RTE Concert Orchestra, conductor David Brophy

Tickets are available from the NCH box-office: www.nch.ie
